To Whom it may concern:
I have followed the case of Richard Lapointe from the very beginning. A number of the Friends of Richard Lapointe are my respected colleagues and friends.
From the very beginning, this case has numerous flaws. Somehow, the Friends and many others have not been able to convince the court system of the mishandling and travesty of this case. In 2008, most police personnel and court staff are better trained than to accept the “facts and confessions” in this case.
At the time of this crime, I was a Presidential appointee in the US Department of Education. At that time, I understood the apparent facts of the case and could not believe the courts could convict this man.
